The 5th season of the most prestigious Quake2 Jump tournament is here!

Just thought I'd make a post about it, so you guys know about it if you want to play and have a chance on winning some money >:(

Yes that's right! Money!!! From playing Quake 2 !!!

Although it's a jump tourney, and as far as I know, there aren't many jumpers in here.. But anyway!

I just watched the n00k!e video a few days back....so tempted to go back to jump again...

Great stuff running the tourney, I'm sure a lot of jumpers will be interested, especially with money involved

Are you making new maps for each round? Or just picking a map out of the list? As it would make for a great video & contest using only lighted jump maps such as the ALT series from Crom or wootwoot's second map with the train, they were classics.

Well, that tourney that n00k1e won was just a single map tournament..
This tournament will be larger, with first a group stage where each player in a group choose one map to play for 15 mins, then next player choose a map... and so on..
Then the best once goes to the semifinals, where maps are voted randomly.. And same thing in the final!

Sounds totally cool, sadly I dont know those jumptricks or just cant do them due to Iam using only keyboard.

WOW! In Farcry Instincts on the Xbox we had a similar idea only there was no glitch and you maneuvered the course with balance and sometimes pixel-perfect jumps. I think some of these maps might be good for that if the gravity was only lowered a bit

OR any of you know of straight obstacle courses for Quake?

Hah, I remember the time when I only used keyboard while playing !
Didn´t know ppl could use the mouse, so was a bit surprised when my clanleader told me about it

Congratulations and Thanks to everyone for an AWESOME final, and an extra heads-up for the top 4 who'll get prizemoney!
The amount of euros for each place is unknown at the moment, but will probably be set tomorrow!
