Just thought I'd post this into its own thread in case anyone missed it. It's a website which offers a wide selection of different PC games that you can select. After doing so, you can run a (very quick) test to see whether or not your computer meets the minimum requirements to actually play the game you're testing for. Not only that, but if your computer doesn't meet the particular requirements of that game, the test will give you suggestions on what you'd need to upgrade so that you can run it. Check it out! Here's the link: www.srtest.com/referrer/srtest

;D I was stunned by the fact that some of these newer games would run on my box at all. Not all game developers are aiming for users of high end rigs as it seems. Nonetheless, upgrade is unavoidable, soonest.

I bought a decent system last year, it was mostly so i could run farcry and doom3. But since then now that im studing it comes in very handy with graphic programs and having so many things open at once helps a lot. Heres my rig, which isnt that good compared to some of the newest hardware out through:
-GIGABYTE GA-K8N PRO-SLI Socket 939 Motherboard -AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4400+ 2.2GHz Socket 939 -Corsair TWINX2048-3200PRO 2x1024Mb DDR400 ProSeries -MSI NX6800Ultra-T2D256E PCI Express - 256MB -Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum -Task TK-952TX-JB 520W ATX 2.0 with single 120mm Blue LED fan -Philips 22" 202P40 Real Flat CRT Monitor -LG Electronics DVD-ROM Drive 16x -Thermaltake Tsunami with window -black (case only) -Windows xp pro sp2 -seagate 120gig sata 7200rpm , 8mb cache
-Creative Gigaworks S750 THX 7.1 speakers
And yes in NewZealand here computers arent cheap! prob twice the price of the same thing in the usa, but it was worth every cent ;)

I think it's disgraceful, making everyone pay (upgrades) to play the newest games. It was better the way it used to be ; the choice to play games on just about every computer, and also a choice to play it with uber graphics on better computers..

I can't run anything on that page. That's what I mean by disgraceful.
