WE HAVE A WINNER! Here are the final votes from the judges: 1st Place: X7 [Q2C] - 301 total points 2nd Place: Whirlingdervish [Q2C] - 287 total points 3rd Place: WizardExt - 276 total points 4th Place: Wixen1 [Q2C] - 223 total points 5th Place: Mart [1001] - 213 total points Congratulations to our winner X7 ! Great job! Thanks to all the mappers and judges for all your hard work. I want to especially thank Whirlingdervish[Q2C] for creating the scorecards, great job! Also to Paril, for collecting all the maps and coordinating the contest. Great job! I think we had a good turnout for a game that's 10 years old. I always wish we could get more maps, but we have five new maps to frag on. Thank you for supporting Quake 2 and the Quake 2 Cafe' !

Note: Paril will have to setup the download links before they can work. If you can't download the maps now, please try back at a later time. Sorry.
Also, if any mistakes were made in the scoring, please let me know and I will correct them.

I'm sorry I couldn't get a map in, but now I see that I wouldn't have stood a chance.
Rock on.

you will get new exciting maps when my mind will be set to it I promise cool maps with ideas never seen anywhere else quake 2 is like a default game for multiplayers and a proof that a good game engine is more important then a good graphic engine although I wouldn’t mind a quake 2 with an updated graphic engine

hardcoal: that's what Quake2max, EGL, QuakeIIxp, and others are for. Quake 2 with a massively updated graphics engine.

EGL, as long as you have a decent video card and processor that can handle it. egl.quakedev.com/

actualy what i really ment is a rebuild of the game using another engine like doom 3 while keeping the movement and jumping technique of quake 2
