Judges comments:
Paril: X7, without a word of a lie, this is one of the best maps I have ever seen in my entire life. Going around this map, it was "Wow" after "Wow". The placement and architecture of this map is amazing. This map is of medium size, but the small pockets and room sizes make up for it. I didn't hear many sounds in the map, but the lighting was good. I saw some very neat effects that I've never seen before, such as that sideways health box and the neat laser setups. X7, be proud.
Subatomic: Another very impressive map, and my personal favorite of them all. Really interesting layout, loved the little added touches here and there—such as the lasers which activate when you enter a hallway. Found a secret as well which was cool. It leads to the rubber ducky image, which then leads to a quad (as well as some other goodies). One odd thing I thought was that in the rooms with lava pillars, they had pools of acid below. Seemed like if it was a lava pillar, there should be a pool of lava. Aside from that, this map was great all around. Nice lighting, some great, original ideas with the lasers in the halls, excellent use of stock textures. Very cool
AAAGGHHH!!: liked the lasers and blue accent lights in the halls, the big pillar room and all the cool things in it.
Sabotuer: The first time I opened that map, I stood infront of the railgun, and a round of green lasers pointed my way to it. AWESOME! I was amazed by this idea, lasershow, originality: 10! But as I walked around the place and noticed the damaging Laser Halls. I saw things kinda repetive, which burried a little bit of the texturing! But which was saved by good lighting that colours up the place (my favorite thing). The red halfO's looked pretty sweet as well. Then I tried out the map with bots, and man was it fun, and I believe it would be fun with real players as well, totally based on q2's fast gravity, everything flows to something fun but especially away from the BFG, which is good, because if you get the BFG and run to the right, you get a power shield, railgun, red armor, silencer, megahealth, chaingun, quad and even a rocket launcher. YOU ARE READY FOR ACTION!!! And you know what, that sure is fun! On the other hand it might not be fun to be in another players way. When I went to the judge board I saw I needed to judge on r_speeds and some technical shit, so I ran a r_speed test and saw, that they were in the 2000, specially in the room with the HUGE ROTATING Q2 SIGN! Didn't lag on my computer, but might on someone elses, so 2000 is not ideal as r_speeds :/ Also when you go through the fog brush to the BFG, you can see to one of the lava corners! But I liked the use of one way doors, fog walls and the bars are so useful in a hall battle! Final words: Totally AWESOME!!! PS: If you look at the whole map far away in noclip, it looks like a penis

Glad to see this won, it definitely was my favorite of the batch. Great work to all the mappers, though! You guys help keep Q2 alive and we're thankful for that (I know I am!).

Very cool map as seen in Mart[1001]\'s Dirty Den. But if I was to criticise 1 thing howver, I\'d have to say the r_speeds. They were so high, that when I tried it with bots, they all lagged out . But: .

Same here, played with bots and had no problem, and no trouble with r_speeds either.

It depends on the bot as well. All bots think differently. Some bots will actually observe their environment for a taste of what to do and how to act in the map, while some just go about their day not caring about anything, just wanting to kill. While this manner is less fun, it's faster.

Hmm...Couls someone set me some of these mentioned bot packs? Maybe these guys won't lag so much.
