Paril: Mart, I think this map flows very well with the Quake2 architecture. When I went in this map, I really felt like this map belonged in the q2dm package. It reminded me of q2dm1. This map has some very cool jumps and maneuvers, and would be great for any mod. It's a fairly small map, but I didn't see any texture errors and the item layout made it seem bigger. The lighting seemed pretty bland and there weren't many extras, but the gameplay and connectivity make up for it. Good work!
Subatomic: Honestly, not that impressed with this map. The texturing/layout just seems bland to me. I didn't see any physical flaws, such as misaligned textures, but it just came across as a very dull map. The structuring of the layout was a bit odd as well, near the acid pool. A bit clunky there. Not many places to go either, felt rather cramped and tiny.
AAAGGHHH!!: not too bad for a basic map; flowed good, kinda wanted to see more, however
Sabotuer: Could have become a really nice map, but even if a texture fits, it doesn't mean it looks good! I liked the slime pit, and the item placement, like the red armor is in the middle where it's not hard to get to but hard to survive if everyone focuses on getting it! Even with all the curves the r_speeds were fine, never got over 600 Final line: Fun, but ugly!
Thanks lads. When I submitted my map, I thought they would be judged, a winner picked, and then it would be up to us to finalize things and then supply a download link and so I only submitted the map in a zip called baseq2. So I have now re-zipped my map with a readme file included and here is an official link to get the finished zip. www.grinder1.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/maps/1001dm2.zip I would appreciate if you guys could update your current links to this one please. Thx again I enjoyed the competition.
