I'm by no means an expert in Quark so perhaps someone here might know more.
I have a fellow mapper by the name of whodini who's having an issue getting Textures to show up in Quark.
I'm not sure if Quark extracts default Q2 textures for you or is that up to the user?
Anyway, he's tried a bunch of things and now he's getting this exception:
Quark keeps saying this
** EXCEPTION REPORT ***
QuArK 6.6 Address in the program : 00561790 (0054D2D0)
QuArK needs the file 'textures\e2u3\blume6_2.pcx or textures\e2u3\blume6_2.wal' from Quake 2 (directory 'baseq2') and could not find it. You must set up the correct path(s) to Quake 2 in the Configuration dialog box.
Please report this error to the QuArK development team, so that they can fix the issue promptly.

Earlier I've already suggested he do the following, which didn't seem to help him much , so I don't know what else I can propose:
Hopefully someone here has some other ideas to help him get back into making maps again

Earlier I've already suggested he do the following, which didn't seem to help him much , so I don't know what else I can propose:
Qoole 99
should extract quake 2 textures
when you
install it:
files.volved.com/qsr/Qoole99v099.exe
One its done you should
have
folders such as:
quake2\baseq2\textures\e1u1
quake2\baseq2\textures\e2u2
quake2\baseq2\textures\e3u3
...
You can
manually extract the textures from packs found in baseq2
using:
files.volved.com/qsr/qped211.exe
So you need to extract
pak0.pak, and pak1.pak
Make
sure they you have the
following folders as a result, you
might
need to move them if you extracted them somewhere
else:
quake2\baseq2\textures\e1u1
quake2\baseq2\textures\e2u2
quake2\baseq2\textures\e3u3
...
Here's
a tutorial by Margaal how to add
textures
to Quark:
