Hello all, hoping someone can name a map from back in the day. Hmm, how to describe it... You spawn into an outdoor area with a big rock wall opposite a very cool castle or fortress-type structure. After exploring for a while and knocking off some guards on the towers on the fortress, an explosion happens on the rock face and hordes of machine gun guards start spilling out and attacking. Very challenging and COOL map. That's all I can remember, because it was such a unique way of springing a trap on the player. Any guidance will be hugely appreciated! Mike.

There's a Q2 SP map featuring a castle called Hexorcism (hexq2.bsp), but it doesn't have the machinegun guard ambush at the start area you describe.

Thanks knightmare, will most definitely check it out tomorrow at some point and get back.
EDIT: got a chance to check it just now - very nice map, but not the one, no.
The only other thing I could add is that I remember the "castle" to be sort of near-East or India influenced, rather like Iikka Keränen's Quake map architecture. But that's just my memory, it was a really long time ago.

Hi MaRiNe, thanks for the tip - found some good screenshots and that is fantastic architecture! Will definitely play it and it looks like a keeper, but I don't think it will be it. Found it at the quaddicted quake hotel archives at www.quaddicted.com/files/idgames2/planetquake/hotel/. There's a lory.zip as well as lory2.zip (which is the Love Story map), but it's corrupted and will not open. EDIT: found another source for lory.zip, and it's the same as lory2.zip.
