www.youtube.com/watch?v=toUKVHmRmj0I found this Psychedelic "Mod" for Quake 2 (Live) So... That brings me to my next thought. Where can I find such a modded color chart to do something as this? There must be a source I over looked?

Quake Live is based on Q3A, not Q2. They probably changed the renderer to show lightmaps only (gl_lightmap 1) and turned on some funny option related to lightmap processing, like Q2's gl_monolightmap.

Gotchya! What has me wonder after seeing the video after learning what you told me. There must be different Colormaps made for Quake 2 no? I tried screwing with it for indifferent results. ( 3 years ago ) The colormap.pcx I had didn't look much like the one here. I would imagine ( without mods or new engines ) one could get some cool effects using the colormap.pcx? Am I way off on this thought? I'm on a Linux machine now so I can't load the editors. (Waiting to share the quake files I have) With everyone but thats OT. I tried looking online but seem to find nothing. I wanna do something different not same as others. Thats what gets me all excited.

I have recently been working on a new pallet for a Quake 2 Mod I'm making, I however am not sure how to go about setting up a new colormap.pcx and as I expected simply changing the colormap to the new pallet doesn't have particularly satisfactory results, e.g. currently grey becomes red when light shines on it, etc. however it's good to see that someone else has been working with colormap too. uzi9mmauto, with your experience in editing the colormap would you be wiling to assist me with setting up mine?, also I'd quite like to see your custom ones you mentioned.
