Whenever I use a custom skin, all the other players become my skin in the game. Not to themselves, but that's what I see, and it's on windows as well as linux.

Ok, I see it now, if I am using a custom skin -then anyone else using a custom skin becomes my skin, but not all skins react that way. I dunno -it's weird, like I wrote.

Which player model and skin are you using?

I used McLane (hilarious model) and also a regular male with the inferno skin I believe it's called. Not a big deal just wondered if maybe it was a known thing.

Does this happen when playing on a particular server, or any server? What about when playing against ACE or 3ZB2 bots?

Mara-coop and tastyspleen dm are the two where I've noticed this phenomena. I think mutant as well as I play there a bit.

I managed to reproduce this once on Mara's coop server.
Does it only happen for players that have skins/models that you don't have? On other clients, those cases default to male/grunt, but in KMQ2 I changed that to the current selected player model to prevent the male/grunt skin from flickering in third person mode at map load.

Oh, I bet that's it! That totally makes sense although I don't know if they have models that I don't have, but probably because I only have about 20 models -give or take.
Ok, thanks for taking the time to check it out and thanks for the awesome client/mod.
Cheers,

Oh, wait. Yes, when I have the custom skin it will display properly and not replicate my custom skin.
Thanks again! Cheers,

That's a relief! I was afraid this was a sneaky bug in my protocol compatibility with vanilla Q2's protocol that would take days to work out.
I've restored the default male/grunt skin in multiplayer games for the next update.
