This is one of my side-mods that I'm doing before I get another mod idea.
Description: This is a complete remake of Quake1, converted to Quake2. Every aspect will be copied almost down to a T (or a Q, in this case!), except some things that won't be available due to the engine. All the same monsters, weapons, and power you loved, back in Quake2! Remember the time you loved gibbing zombies? Remember when you had Rocket-Wars online? Remember the old QuakeWorld CTF memories? This mod is for you!

Of course. First there was the infamous Generations mod which brought in the characters of all previous iD games as player classes. Wolfenstein-Blascowitz versus Doomguy versus Quakeguy versus Q2 grunt, all with their original weapons. It also aimed for a single player mode which combined everything from all iD games up to Quake 2. A lot of it was finished. The mod was stopped by iD themselves, because they coverted all the original media from the games preceding Quake 2. After that the mod SOG ( mostly by the same people ? can't say ) was started which was pretty much in the same vein, but without using any copyrighted game media. What I would personally find extremely cool - if it has to be a mod which mimicks weapons and gameplay of another game - would be a Rise of the Triad aka ROTT mod. The weapons and items of ROTT were just the coolest. Filling the air in Quake 2 with swarms of Drunken Missiles would be the blast, detonating firebombs, or turning others into burned skellingtons (which finally collapse with a perfidious xylophone sound ) with the firewall, or someone getting the GOD powerup .... "God Mode" literally .... And opposed to that the DOG bonus, barking other players in pieces with the barkblaster or biting and scratching them to death .... Yeah, Rott was pretty crazy.

I never tried the full version.. I had the shareware missions that came bundled with a couple other oldies on the Duke3d disc.... ROTT was definitely very fun. It has some of the craziest weapons Ive ever seen in a FPS game.

I have currently used the material from Quake1 and converted to Quake2, it's temp until me and Guran get the time to make new stuff. It's pretty hard to make new stuff and new skins, because either way they look like Q1.

Lo, ROTT was pretty cool. Hey if you need non- id copyrighted material, there are a bunch of Quake Revitalization sites with new original models, skins, etc. Just be sure to credit those folks. Here, www.kolumbus.fi/ruohis/models.htmThese all appear to be really hefty MDL's, Quake1 format. But using Quake Model Editor we can convert these to MD2. The 32-bit skins could then be used by a Q2 engine mod such as EGL or Q2 evolved.

No, end of story. Maybe for others, but I wouldn't include them.
I used non-original material, but I won't release this mod publically.

Generations mod is such a cool mod.It is too hard for me to find a availible link to download it. It costed me hours to find it. But I have found it.When I run it,I think it is worthwhile。 I felt i was playing Quake1.All the things belong to quake1,except the HUD. That's cool. A very good mod for Quake2.Is there another similar mod for quake2?
btw:who can recommand the forums of quake2(Active is better ^-^) And where could i download the remaked weapon model for quake2? THX

SOG is better. Generations Q2 wasn't that good. I liked SOG better, in my opinion.
G:A is awesome.
