As said - im currently only mapping for great old UT99 - see a example concept of my creativity: P.S.: This is my mapping project for 2015 - enough for me now - especially if considering the also planned malesoldier to zombie warlord conversion (also UT99)! Definitively also in 2015 a mapping contest makes more sense! But though im loving great Q2 i also prefered other game (UT) because of the missing muzzleflash vweap files. Thats probably why i never made a single map for it and think its not worth investing a editor studium. Not to mention my general shooter abstinence since most multiplayer servers proved have player fake bots. Maybe someday i wanna upload all working strogg player replacement models on moddatabase - for the sake of a classic that could still be the best of all.

I tried around abit with the IrFanView program and found it enables alot more than only importing palettes! So you can scale colour ranges down to e.g. 16bit and replace each single colours. If you open up another picture with Q2 palette its simple to copypaste the colour definitions and create PNGs (overlays) to add e.g. different faces to certain bodies. But always consider that only a percentage of the entire Q2 palette is allowed per picture (tutorial above).

Moar skins and models for the collection! Now even some working strogg playerplugins with death lastframe. Sort the preferred yourself or wait until i upload a 200% Q2Style players server pack on ModDataBase.com. Also new - DooMed and Generations SP packs (valid archives) in my mediafire files (signature link). And sorry - but still no muzzle flash plugin found yet. Isnt that cool or something? A handful of new found models and skins and even a small mod which changes the 3d explosions to sprites - cool! Watch this video of the Nintendo64 game QUAKE II and realize the astonishing difference of actual fp muzzle flash animations! Looks much better nor? No comparse to the crappy PC version. I hope one of the "serious" hd engine makers has the nuts to use 3DRipper or something and port this f**king shit over. I will anyways at least try ripping the exclusive players skins .. . But i planned abit considering adding muzzleflashes and found the best way were new weapon models with scripted transparent flash textures which of course be controlled by shooting. Gonna be abit work though since we have so many vwep models. The fp flash is btw not that important but two crossed 3p view textures would make q2 probably the best game of all times .. .
