Cool, thanks. I don't need the buttons (I'd never use them anyway), just so I'm not missing anything. What I meant about the other buttons is what are they called and what they put into the post. Most of those are ordinary forum markup but I remember seeing some weird ones in there too. And I forgot one: [ SIZE]

and there were buttons for this stuff:
... ... ... [s]...[/s] ... ... ...
... ...

...

...

Edit: went snooping around the support board and found a few more ... [move]...[/move] (marquee idiot tag) [sup]...[/sup] [sub]...[/sub] ...
...
I know I'm missing a few, there's some sort of shadow or highlight thing (that never did anything), one or two others. What are the ones I'm missing, and the [whatever][/whatever] they add?

Got a question: what are all the smilies on here? I get "Your browser is not compatible with our extra feature buttons" in place of what I assume are buttons for smilies and markup, regardless of what browser I use (mozilla 1.5 which I normally use on here, also IE5, netscape 4.8). I was posting at a proboard a long time ago and did get them to work once, but I'm not sure how. Here I've had to quote posts to see what's what. I have these so far: : ) :-) : D ; D ;D : o ? ?? : '( >: ( : -[ ; ) : ( : P : -* 8 -) : -/ : -X :: ) Am I missing any?

Thanks. It's due to stability and suitability issues mainly. But I'll probably doink around in "the yak room" now and then. Such as the MP3 thread, which I can add to...

I request that any contact information I've provided (email address, others if applicable) please be removed from any relevant mailing lists. Thanks in advance. Sorry to have to post this out in the forum (wasn't sure where to post) but for a while now I've chosen to disregard and not initiate any off-forum contact (private messages, etc) regarding "Le Ray's Quake 2 Cafe'" functions. (Administrative private contact for issues relating directly to the forum itself are excepted. Oh, and I also don't ignore any PMs regarding Q2 and maps or off-topic stuff regardless of who they come from.) I'm planning on limiting my activity here from to the Q2 forums (new maps, betatesting, etc). I can still help out with editing questions, looking at maps, all that good stuff. See you all over there

Huh? I'm confused. (I don't know anything about "backshooters" that's probably why)

Hi everyone, just found about this forum -- and the contest -- tonight. Le Ray asked me about joining the constest and I figured ... why not? I go by the name HLR Productions, or HLR is fine if you want. I've been involved in Q2 editing for a little over six years now and it's cool to see that it's still alive. (I just wish it were a little more alive in the single-player side of things.) If you want to email me, click here or on my homepage link, then on my site go to "contact" on the left and you'll get my contact page with an image of my email address. (This is to keep spambots from harvesting it. I get too much as it is so I'm trying to keep it off the internet in text form as much as possible.) Or just PM me here. I can put together a smallish or medium-sized map OK, probably not anything bigger than for 8-10 players. I can bang out most of it in a few days, but then you know how after you're finished with the first 90%, you still have the last 90% to do... Re rule #1: I think 8-27 through 9-27 is a good time frame. If it gets dragged out too long people are bound to get disintersted and there won't be too many finished entries. I'll be busy with other things through the end of the month so this will work out good. Also, have you brought this up on func_msgboard or rust or any other places? If you haven't already, you might want to--we could get a really good-size group together for this.

Heh. I think it's time for that to go. A word filter isn't a problem in and of itself, but when it's too stupid to differentiate between the word being blocked and legitimate things are getting messed with because of it, then there's a problem.

Blank page. That site must be down right now.

Cool Nice style. Those rotating parts must make things interesting. Is this low-grav by any chance? That'd make things even more interesting if so.

That, and gl_clear 1 to get rid of the HOM. You can flood-fill that hot-pink color in your paint program with whatever color you want afterwards.

Hi, new. :-) Found this from another forum and stopped by. I'll probably end up wasting--errr--spending way too much time here like I do at the other forums I'm a regular at instead of being productive and doing things like, uhhhhhh, designing levels. Q2 of course. I dunno if I'll spend a lot of time here or not, mainly because proboards tends to be a clunkfest now and then (not anybody's fault here of course) and doesn't always work for me. I'll post while it works. I've been around a while; I first started making levels for Q2 around June 1998, and used to post at the old Ravages of Radiant site on PQ and rust later, before getting involved internet-wise in other things. I dont' have much to show for it except this: Defensive Measures, and of course my \quake2\newmap\ folder which is several hundred megs in size. This site focuses on DM I see. My specialty leans toward single-player (I'm not into online gaming really) but I've done a little as-yet-unreleased DM work and also have a good number of test maps and stuff I'd kinda like to make smallish DM maps out of. Architecture and lighting are my main interests. For the DM fans here, the map I linked to is a three-map SP unit but the first two maps also have DM support. I don't think they've been played with real people before, but I've had lots of fun playing them with eraser bots. Anyways.....

The Powersphere Quest. This unit is nostalgic to me: I first played it in 1998 when I was really getting into Q2. It became my favorite and still is. The third map with the caves I think is the best natural-terrain map ever made. No ifs, ands or buts about it. If you haven't played it, go play it. And for you deathmatchers, that 3rd cave map makes for an absolutely phenomenal DM map. I've had many a fun botmatch session in that map. The other three large maps are extremely good DM maps too--I've played them all a bunch. Some favorite DM maps of mine: Confidence Lost (ospdm1) Canyon Outpost (outpost)
