Hey Flash, I think this is a really cool map and I think you did a great job on it. The lighting looks nice and you are improving with each new map. Keep up the good work!

I can not see this as a finished map, Flash. Sorry.
This is a raw map - scetch at its best.
Needs much more work if you want to publish it. The lighting looks overbright, textures are misaligned or very poorly chosen, the overall greyness does not give any atmosphere.

Needs details - trims, panels, lights, decorations. Better texturing. Some things that break up the grey, like colored light sources that punch out of this monotony. And so on.

A flood of scetchy, hastily produced semi-maps will not help the Quake 2 scene to survive. We need more quality.

A scetch like this might be good as a mapping exercise for you, but take it as such and not as a finished map for the Quake 2 community.

I have been running a QuakeII web site since 1998---- and within the last (3) years been doing q2database.com.... I have been doing my part to help keep QuakeII going sir.... this map.... nor any other map(s) will kill this game...



All I wanted to do is make this map.... never moved from my pc chair for 24hrs... oh BLAH!

Flash, I think you improve with every map you do and I hope you continue to create new maps for us.

I think Grieve is just giving a little constructive criticism.

Everyone has their own opinions about maps.

Yeah, right Leray.

No sweat, Flash. But I see mapping as a serious art form, that's all. I know how much work it takes to make a really good map.

My PSC clanmate Jester works for months on each of his maps.
When he finally releases it the compliments he gets are well earned. And still there are people that find something to criticize.

If you publish something you will receive feedback, positive or negative, that's more or less unavoidable.

"I release this to the public but don't want to hear any comments" is hooey. ;D

/agree sir Grieve.... and never said I don't like comments..good or bad.

I am artist myself.... and have recieved many good and bad comments on my paintings.... those comments are what made me keep going forward.

Flash mate that map took me waaay back to when I was a younger feller imprisoned wrongly in a house of incarceration ...
- couldn't give a rats as to what the deep n serious critics say mate its a Q2 map & if a single person gets a smile from it well I would consider the effort was worth it aye
