Right on. We've posted it here www.bringersofdeath.org/downloads.htm and doubled the page as a children's music thing! Show your kids the classic Chipmunk's Christmas everybody! Let us know if this is an overall cool format and info!

Well Wixen! I'm gonna be bad to you! I have to say this as I'm thinking it, of course I know you're a new in mapping and all, but I have to say I didn't like it. The idea is good and structurally it's pretty cool but the detail in the curves don't need to be so outstandingly good, just makes high r_speeds and long compiling time. The thing is, when I look at q2 maps today, I look for eye candy, I want something that looks good, because, well q2 is dieing and we have to face that truth. But q2 is a beautiful game, and I love mapping for it, but try for a little more colour, little more atmosphere. What especially bugged me the most was that you used so much of lights, how about using more lightobjects? those are very good for the atmosphere. Also, I found many places to open, more like empty. doesn't look so good! The textures where also very bland. Well Wixen, just keep on trying and keep on mapping, practice makes perfect.

So now for my comments. 1. I wanted the details to be nice, even thou the r_speeds would go up, but never thought tit would go that high. I gueess the map got to big, already told so in my tread. To late to do anything about that sorry, but I know. 2. well, I wanted it to look good instead of the ever so borring all the same kind of map comming from everywhere, I thought my map schould be different/special, I think I did nicely or else we wouldent have this talk... Nice looking is in the eye of the beholder, right? 3. I dident use so much light I think, the sky is at only at 180 and I think I only used about 6 exstra lights in the ground plane where it was needed and a couple at some closed area. That cant be to much or I really dont know. I might get better at this as time comes, if its a problem. 4. Colour and atmosphere, yep this a problem, iv never come to that part yet.(2.map) I think the atmosphere schould be right, but maybe when the light isent ok, it could take out some atmosphere. Remember I wanted this to be ancient, not to much light. Maybe if you go GL or software or turn up you settings it might come allright, I know allready, there are no problems in 3 different server where the map have been launched the 2 past days. And Iv been asking the players that question excactly. 5. I like the texture to match the scenario (be honest to it selfes), and I have never in my life been to an ancien castle where they used more than 2 different stones to build the castle with. I have even brought in wood...lol... But yes, its seems a bit of the same to me to, sorry.. 6. Well, this is the meaning, I like the open spaces somewhere in a map and i know player do like that to, combat-zone and rails...if you havent tryed it yet, you schould..... Thanks a lot for you detailed submission, i do like that even thou its still my second map, thx.... Wixen1

I understand the big spaces thing, though I'm more of a close combat guy (ssg and rl) the thing isn't the area it self but the look, how about some decoration? in the ground on the walls, whatever. The lights, well, I was talking about that you should light objects rather then just the light coming from nowhere, that's the deal Keep on mapping and fragging in peace
