Anyone? C'mon...someone out there has to still feel the love...erm...fear...uhh...you know what I mean!
When Doom 3 first arrived, I had a PC that would run the game at 640x480 with no problems. Today, my wife's laptop is the only thing we have that will sort of run older games, but certainly won't run Doom 3, so that leaves me playing the game on the Xbox/Xbox360. Not too bad considering you can get a used Xbox for $50 and a copy of Doom 3 for $10 for a whopping total of $60 and it runs just fine on the Xbox despite the specs of that system being merely 1/4 of the system requirements necessary to run Doom 3.
Anyway, if any of you still play Doom 3, and especially if you still play Doom 3 on the Xbox, get with me and maybe we can get some coop going...old school style!

Old school style would be Quake 2 coop, sir. Which I'd rather play than Doom 3 to be honest -Paril

There's about 14 other boards on this site that talk about Q2 so go there! **rails Paril in the face then teleports him to hell**

I would have to say that Doom 3 is probably one of the only games I have which I have to force myself to play...It really doesn't get good until after the train chapter where you crash...then it pipes up more in the Delta Labs, but the hell levels to me just had no feeling in them...
...Even "Doom 2 - Hell on Earth" was better.

Pretty harsh there, but no two people have the same taste in games. I did, however, pop in both games today and I can tell you that I absolutely loved playing Doom 3 more than I did Doom 2 (as evidenced by my 2 hours spent with Doom 3 versus the 2 minutes spent with Doom 2).
I certainly like the visuals of Doom 3 and find they pull me into the game much more than Doom 2, but Doom 64...now THAT one is better than both Doom 2 and Doom 3 combined!

I play some D3 from time to time since I now have a box that can run it on highest settings. Don't know if PC/Xbox-Coop is possible though?

Had a look at the screenshots of DOOM 64, and it was pretty much a "meh" from me. I love oldskool Doom 2 the most...I think it's the music and all those ambient growls during the game that bring me back to it every few months to play through it.

I really liked the visuals in Doom3, but it got too repetitive for me. One thing I did the whole game was avoid pretty much all the armor, because in some situations you came out worse off health wise....
Doom3 imo has the best 5.1 surround sound of any game I've played, the shotgun had a awesome 'clunk' to it. Even with headphones the game sounded fantastic - provided you have a soundcard too.
Hopefully Doom4 will turn out to be great.

Anyone know what Doom 4 is gonna be? If it's gonna be a remake of Doom2 it'd better be good.

Man I hate it when I read posts about DOOM 3! I contradict myself, because I've been playing through it the last few days and have loved it!
Then again, maybe it's also because my PC can run it now all maxed out and sexy looking and I don't have any juttery frames...it's all smooth and good.
Just reached Delta 4...Man this stuff is wrank...

See? I knew someone here could still appreciate this game. No one here has said the original Doom and Doom 2 are bad. I just like the new version with the shaders that show off the lighting effects of the game. Yeah the game is dark, but it's supposed to be dark. It just wouldn't have the "jump out of your pants" moments with all of the lights on.
So, does anyone here play Doom 3 on the Xbox? I have the Xbox version of the game and I also have Live. For those who don't already know this, you can play coop in Doom 3 over Xbox Live. It's great fun and you can even talk using the Xbox Live communicator headset. There is nothing funnier than hearing your buddy screaming like a girl in a dark corridor when a zombie jumps out of a monster closet...lol

I play it on PC...sucks how it didn't come with CO-OP as an option in the PC version...I'd like to map for it sometime soon, even if it is a little more complex.

Seriously, it's no more difficult to map for than mapping for Q3A was. If you are choosing to make your own shaders though...that becomes difficult with the way everything is labeled as materials and there are about 4 different types of light maps for each texture. If you stick with pre-made or stock textures, you should find the transition to be an easy one.
