New to the forum and just wanted to say howdy to everyone.
Back in the day I used to head up the Quake1/2/3 mapping group called Team 3. We were hosted on PlanetQuake and we did tons of cool maps, especially for custom mods (Capture!, ThunderWalker CTF2, L-Fire CTF etc.). I had my share of maps out there, some used to be quite popular. Who knows, some might still be in rotation out there...
I haven't played Quake in years but got sick of all my console and other PC games so I dusted off Quake 2 and am going through the single player campaign again. Getting the hankering to map again too. My first editor I used is BSP - might have to give that a whirl for fun. I used QERadiant later on, but can't remember anything about it now.
Anyway, glad to be on board here!

p.s. if you search for 'geezer' on site:planetquake.gamespy.com you can find some of my old stuff

I just resurrected our Team 3 site. Haven't checked to see if all links work - but the couple of fileplanet links I checked are still there: team3.koolserve.com/Lots of screenshots of the various maps we did. There's even a CTF map making guide on the side I did ages ago. -geezer

Forgot to link this one specifically... by far my most popular map was Neurotica from L-Fire CTF. FilePlanet shows over 68,000 downloads on it - but it was hosted elsewhere as well. Here's the page for Neurotica: team3.koolserve.com/levels/lfire/neuro/-geezer

I never play CTF........ are there bots that can play CTF?. Eraser bots play CTF (well, they did back in the day This was something we came up with while chatting in IRC one night (IRC - that'll take you back a few years). We wondered what would happen if you had 2 flags per side - and sure enough it worked. So we created small maps with mass ammo and 1 main weapon per level. It is pretty much insanity. I'll have to give them a go with some Eraser bots again. Thanks.. yeah, they were good times. It was all during the Q2/Q3 heyday and we were along for a fun and wild ride. -geezer
