ok I'll give that a go when I'm next on my PC
I was just thinkin I'm pretty sure I've experienced the double load thing with vanilla Quake 3 cos you gotta use similar parameters to what you mentioned above when testing out a custom map for that game...maybe it will work. I'll let you know man.

Well I gave those parameters a go KM and no good. Tried: c:\games\id\quake2\kmquake2 +set game destruct +set deathmatch 1 +gamemap bitswtdm11 Even tried: c:\games\id\quake2\kmquake2 +set deathmatch 1 +gamemap bitswtdm11 still didn't work. so I'll wait for you to fix the bug. It's no biggy man, whenever it's sorted.

Hi! Occasional Q2 map player/lurker here. Just signed up because I found this thread after Google search for similar issue with a Q1 engine. In that case a check was added to the engine to stop sending duplicate server info on certain maps. I never found the root cause (just prevention), and it may or not be the same issue. But it may be more than coincidence that it was reported at almost the same time on Q1, Q2, and Q3. The Q1 problem was discovered on Windows 7 64bit. Is it just occurring on Windows 7, or just on 64bit?

I found that in Q2, this was due to the "game" cvar being latched to a different value, which forced a game directory reload after the next map finished loading. The only cause of this I could find was from savegames that had been moved across game directories, which would change the latched value of "game". This has been fixed in the current development build of KMQ2.
