"Couldn't load pics/colormap.pcx"
Obviously, I've screwed up the quake2 directory for kmquake2 (vanilla runs fine) but how?
Ive extracted the kmquake2 zip as instructed. Does it require something else?

You're launching KMQuake2 through a shortcut and not a batch file, right? Sounds like you don't have the "start in" field set right in your shortcut, as it needs to match the path where kmquake2.exe is (i.e. x:\quake2 if the kmquake2 target field is x:\quake2\kmquake2.exe).

Its working now although I'm not quite sure how r what I did. I run it straight from the exe. To stress test the mod, Kmquake2 is also installed a laptop with only 16 megs of video ram. I'm getting decent frame rates for now, we'll see what will happen once I start turning features on in the video options.
