First some background:
About a year ago now I guess, I was sitting around talking gamer talk in a coffee shop with this dude who sat down at my table cause the place was packed. I noticed he was jamming keys playing some game on a serious laptop gaming rig, as I watched him you could see the whites of his knuckles starting to show, he was jaaaamming pretty hard. I looked at him and said, " Man you jam it harder your gonna knock over my coffee gamer dude." He apologized, I just laughed and said "No worries Keystroke." I figured that was a fitting tag for him at the time and I've called him that ever since. Well we got to talking about gaming, I went off on a babble about Q1/2 and that if he is new to gaming ( his laptop had that fresh outta the box smell ) he should try them out and look into Q3/4 as well, "Might not be a flashy as what your playing there but I guarantee you'll be glad you did. Well as it turns out he wasn't new to gaming, he had a PS3 and he went off about all the games he had ect ect. I said, "Your a gripper are you, well I can't really speak much to that since I am a keys and mouse old timer dude." We ended up talking for a couple of hours trading gaming stories, spoke about how I stepped away from all technology blah blah blah, it was a good time for myself.
So about 2 months later I go back to this coffee shop and there's Keystroke, he gets this big smile on his face when he see's me. So I join him with my coffee and he starts talking about how he went out and picked up a mouse and keyboard, how he has been practicing not jamming the keys ect ect. I said, "Yup yup, pc gaming is a whole different world then being a gripper." Then he looks at me, hands me this box and says, "This is for you!"
So to start making a long story short, Keystorke had been coming back to the coffee shop on the same day for the last 2 months hoping to run in to me. I open the box and inside was a PS3 and I'm like wtf dude are you crazy, he explains its his old one and that he bought a new one with more space on it, that he would like me to have this one since I missed being a gamer so much. "Maybe it will entice you in to getting back online with a pc one day" he said. Now I am really not an emotional type of dude but if its one thing that always moves me it is random acts of kindness. It took some serious will power to hold back the tears but that lump in my throat was growing harder not to swallow, I even squirted coffee out my noise because I almost lost it.
Well we became good friends an we meet up at the coffee shop every once in awhile to talk gamer an check out all the fluff. I saw him a couple of weeks ago, I told him how I now have a gaming pc again. A couple of days ago he shows up hands me another box with this rinky dink contraption in it. "This should save you some money on controllers from here on out" he was laughing pretty hard!!! I've gone through a "few" controllers trying to get the hang of them, def gotta give props to any gripper out there that has the controller mastered.
So I open the box, in it is this thing called an XIM, he explains what it is how it works, shows me some online videos of it ect ect. I just looked at him with a fake scowl on my face and said, " You son of a b*tch, you knew about this thing from the very beginning didn't you" He laughed so hard I swear he almost pist his pants 4x over, " It worked didn't it, all that cursing and swearing complaining about the controller, I just needed to break you down till the day came and you went back out and got yourself a rig." I just looked at him, "Your gonna play Quake with me you little F*$K'r and I am gonna hurt you sooooo bad" thats all I could say lmao. He looks at me, " I guess I can finally put it on my pc and see what your made of old timer. Snappy little MF he is!!! hahahah
I gotta tell you this thing is amazing to use on the PS3, true one on one movement just like gaming on a pc, I can't believe it, this thing is freaken bad ass!!! It doesn't support every game out there and truthfully when it comes to a few games I have for the PS3 I would rather use the controller ( thats so funny to hear myself say that ) but for any old timers out there who r playing on a PS3 and hate the controller check this thing out. xim3.com , its a snap to set up.
So just outta curiosity, are there any mutil platform gamers here? Ooooo look at me speaking the geek gamer talk again hehe
On an absolute side note, if anyone in here is ever looking for anything gaming related, food related, clothing, toys ect ect and its not available in your country or where ever you live send me a msg. If its available in my location and your willing to foot the bill and the shipping I'll do my best to track it down and get it to you.
