I've got my textures in .wal format & sequence (testanim00.wal though 03). I assign testanim00 to the side of the brush in Radiant. I compile the map and when I run it's just the first frame, no animated.
I see no "animate" flag in the surface inspector. Is there anything I'm missing?

The animation settings are in the .wal files themselves, and are baked into the BSP on compilation. You'll need to open them up in Wally and go to texture properties (F12) and set the internal name and next animation texture name. Be sure to include the texture subfolder name in the path (e.g. e1u1/+0btshoot2). Make sure the last texture links back to the first- otherwise the map can hang Q2 on load.
When compiling, you'll need to set the -gamedir or -moddir parameter for qbsp3 so it can find the textures and include the animation in the BSP.

Awesome, thanks. I thought I just had to name the files.
