I won't be adding eye candy like cell shading in minor updates to existing versions. Maybe for the next major release... BTW, update 7 is now released: www.markshan.com/knightmare/

BTW, update 7 is now released: www.markshan.com/knightmare/The update looks real nice! If you are seeking to add id Tech 3 support to kmquake2, the author of uModel released the code and build of his custom quake 2 source port on which can load Quake 1 and Quake 3 maps fairly seamlessly, so it may or may not be of use to you. It's at gildor2/Quake2 on GitHub. Secondly, you mentioned on the website how you were going to release a Mac version of kmquake2 you made based on Fritz of Dojo's Q2 port. As a Mac user, it would make kmquake2 easier to play if I had it. Finally, you may or may not be aware that there's a version of kmquake2 that's been released with support for the Oculus Rift called vrquake2. It's at q2vr/quake2vr on Github.

I've seen Gildor's Q3 BSP support, however, it's incomplete as it doesn't have support for curve patches. I'll be using EGL's implementation as a reference for adding support for JA BSPs. The Q1 BSP support does intrigue me, however.
The Mac OS port is on the back burner, as I no longer have easy access to a Mac I can use for development. The porting job is already complete, and the current development source should still compile in XCode. However, libcurl will still need to be compiled as a OS X static lib for HTTP downloading to work. That was an incredible PITA with Visual Studio, and I can imagine how much fiddling it will take in Xcode to get everything set up properly.
I know about Quake2VR. Unfortunately, I can't justify buying an Oculus devkit right now, and I don't add features I can't test.

I might be able to put together an OS X package for you, Knightmare. I'm on a Mac fulltime. Point me to what you've got and I'll take a look.
