The Feedback / Screenshot Section leray.proboards.com/board/82/screenshots-contest-mapsPlease use this section to post your feedback or suggestions for each map. There you'll also find individual scores and screenshots to make things easier. The mappers would really appreciate it now that you had plenty of time to check out their work. Thank You

Argggggghhhhh! At last!!! I finished reviewing all the maps and writing feedback or them. I wanted to do this amd not delay it more so did crunch on this in three days and it is definitely tiring, after the tenth map had to get some rest, as it was becoming a bit frustrating, but i think it hasn't affected noticeably its quality. The bottom half of the ratings was more fun to review and write, as those have more ideas on them and the issues are easier to pinpoint, so felt like a breather, and more enthusiasm can be felt on the writings. ... The most boring to review ... probably the first two, as are in my eyes the most normal, as quality and polishment makes a map more fun to play, but not to review and rate.
The first paragraph of the review and the first part of the text are blunt data, as objective as possible. I notice thorough the years that this is missed a lot, just basic info on what kind of map is, its length, theme, which is very important ... so this last years i am including this. The second paragraph of the review is personal opinions. The third part, the suggestions, have or should have a reason on why i wrote them and details, as without them the mapper has to guess things out. I tried to respect the mapper choices on the flavor and character of the map when writing the suggestions, as a bad map is better than a soulless one, so no BIG changes in the base of the maps have been proposed or have been kept as optional. ONLy this third part has issues that i think that would be good to change in the map, so any negative feedback i give in the review part, i don't think it should be changed or i don't know how.
So, as a whole, this texts work for both the mapper and whichever want to choose a map to play.
The writings are a bit blunt, but its because i wrote as i felt, as roundabout ways aren't for me, i tend to be direct. I expect that you'll like reading them more than me writing them up, and above everything, comment and discuss them, as reviews and feedback without a discussion are only at half a way to be complete.
Going to post them now. Let's hope the computer doesn't break now, i wouldn't be able to do this again, mainly because i would hang myself in a mix of frustration, despair and rage.
I apologize in advance for the missing ''f'' and ''y'' in the texts. There's going to be lots.

WOW! I can say this exceeded my expectations and then some. Was only hoping for 2 sentences per map max, so this is an unexpected surprise, thorough and to the point! I'm sure the mappers will appreciate it, and over time rage will be replaced with overwhelming joy lol. You surely toppled WizardExt essay, although you both went above and beyond what was required. Hell, maybe next time you should be a judge, although we wouldn't want you to hurt your keyboard or sanity, with 'f' and 'y' already out of commission... This feedback probably amounts to the work of two or more people right there, so you did great. You deserve rest, but given you're probably a workaholic looking for the next fun assignment I'm sure you'll recover quickly. Now If only the other judges opened up and followed your example to some degree, that would be awesome. I think for all the work the mappers put in, including yourself cocerello, they deserve a nice thorough diagnostic assessment to help them understand where they went wrong, and what they could improve upon. Numbers are one thing, but they are quite detached and lifeless. A written analysis is more tangible and is easier to translate into actual map updates, quick fixes, and enhancements.

Ops, i almost forgot this post. Glad you are glad about them. About its size, i just simple applied the motto ''don't do to others what you don't want to be done to you''. I know that if the comment and suggestions are explained the mapper will understand them and doing it in 2 or 3 lines is impossible, and will appreciate the effort, that's why i went for a proper review. But they are far from complete, 20 maps are too much to review at once. Even though i think that two or three lines are a bit low, i said that when proposing the judges should give some feedback, because 2-3 lines multiplied by 5 judges makes for a lot of feedback. It is a pity it didn't worked out well. About me being a judge, that would be a bad idea, as my Gladexperience at playing DM maps its almost null, much less Quake 2's ones. For example, you can see that in all those reviews i barely talked about gameplay and flow aside from giving some blunt data, but barely any info or suggestions. If it were a SP or CTF contest i would give that and maybe consider about joining as a judge, but wasn't the case. And no, i am not a workaholic , but i tend to end like one, unfortunately. I tend to become overambitious with maps and don't manage well the time, and that ends in me doing lots of crunch work.
