So it's been a very long time since I've mapped, and when I did, I used Qoole v2.50. But since I can't get it to work anymore, I thought I'd change to Trenchbroom with the Q2 addon instead (big thanks to Null for that). However, I'm either forgetting the basics of mapping, or I just can't a brush entity to work in Trenchbroom. The menu gets stuck at "Create Brush Entity >" and doesn't let me add properties to any of the brushes. So I can't get even get the sky in my map to work! Any advice would be appreciated.

Trenchbroom V1 doesn't have full Q2 surface support, so things like the sky you'll have to tag in another editor like Qoole. If that's too much of a pain, I recommend getting Trenchbroom V2 that natively supports Q2. It isn't officially out yet.... But if you contact the author Kristian at kristian.duske@gmail.com, he should be able to send you a link to the latest beta version. Also if you send a pm to Kitsune on this forum, he should be able to hook you up with the latest copy of V2 as well. Thanks so much, Null! I've sent Kristian an e-mail and Kitsune a PM. I'd like to try out Trenchbroom V2 - I wasn't aware that there was a beta version of it.
That cheatsheet will also come in handy when I (hopefully) get my hands on Trenchbroom V2.

The version I sent should do the trick, it's what I use to this day still! You can also select as many brushes you wish for that purpose as well and apply the entity to all desired brushes at once as a single entity can affect multiple brushes. Let me know if anything else you'd like to know ^w^!

Thank you Kitsune, I received the file! I will now try it out and see whether I can do a small test map with brush entities, and then maybe go for a single player unit that I've been wanting to make.
