Hi all. I was looking to play the standalone mode codered on windows 10 but it is not working in win10.
Is there a way to use kmquake2 for a standalone quake 2 mod?

I'm pretty sure that Code Red has some specific engine features different from KMQuake2. And KMQ2 won't load CodeRed's game DLL.
That said, it's probably crashing on startup due to Carmack's buffer overflow, which affects all modified Q1/Q2 engines that haven't been patched.
Maybe Code Red's authors have released a patched version, or you could contact them and ask for a patch.
That said, the crash is pretty easy to fix. You just need Visual C++ 6 to compile the source, and copy the changes I made to the Com_Printf function in qcommon/common.c.
If you can't find the source for download anywhere, I can post it for you.

Oh, I just realized there is one other thing you can try if you have an nVidia GPU. Download and install the nVidia Inspector utility: www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-inspector-download.htmlThen run it and click on the profile settings button to the right of the driver version display. In the window that opens, select the profile for Quake2, and then click the "add application to the current profile" button to the left. Select the .exe for Code Red, then click Apply Changes and close it. Code Red should then run properly with compatibility settings for Quake2.
