Hello,
I'm new to this forum and I want to build a map with monsters from rogue, xatrix and zaero like Andrea Rosa did in Citadel.
I'm using Quark 6.6 Beta7, Lazarus und KMQuake2. I build my own .qrk with "Monster_* entities" and "monster_sentien" in it.
The model's path is: ".\Quake II\tmpQuArK\models\monsters\sentien".
But if I this entity in my testmap and build it, quake 2 sais: "monster_sentien doesn't have a spawn function".
I use kmq2gamex86.dll for baseq2. if I use kmq2gamex86.dll for Zaero it works but this isn't what i want.
I looked into the km source and found this:
void SP_monster_sentien(edict_t *self);

.
.
{"monster_sentien", SP_monster_sentien},
I built the .dll from that code but this doesnt't solve my problem.
What do I wrong? Please help me.

I'm not sure which dll you built from the source, but it sounds like you don't have the correct one in the "tmpQuark" folder you're using for your project. You should use the missionpack support kmq2gamex86.dll from kmquake2_020_b3_missionpack.zip. That one, though quite old, adds support for the sentien only. I have a newer one that adds the hound as well (but not the handler) available as part of a test build of the next update: bitbucket.org/Knightmare66/kmquake2_stable/downloads/

Thank you knightmare, this solved my problem. One more question: Is it possible to add the handler and maybe the spider from oblivion mod in the future?

I looked at the handler, it was a large chunk of additional underlying code that I didn't want to mess with, given that I'm already using the Rogue and Lazarus AI additions. Since the source code from Oblivion was never released, there unfortunately is no monster code to integrate.

Those are both misc_actors, or is the spider a model_spawn?
Anyway, if you could track down any of the developers of Oblivion and get them to release the source, I could port it to KMQ2 and probably add the spider to the Rogue/Xatrix/Lazarus DLL.

The Hunter is a misc_actor and performs very well as a monster. The spider is a model_spawn because it's frames doesn't fit with the misc_actor function.

That code is GPLed, so it can't be mixed with the missionpack support code, which is explicitly non-GPL.

With the help of knighmare and decino's Q2Infighter, I was able to add the ogre from Quake 1 in Quake 2. More opponents will follow. Attachments:

With the help of knighmare and decino's Q2Infighter, I was able to add the ogre from Quake 1 in Quake 2. More opponents will follow. I didn't get a chance to comment on this last night but I'm glad knightmare was able to help you out on this and am very much looking forward to seeing this develop further, could come in real handy for some interesting fun sp mission maps and even some out of the box next level thinking dm map "traps " hehe P = NP

With the help of knightmare the Quake 1 monsters are now attacking the Quake 2 world. More information about my project will follow, when I have more to show. Thanks to the Quake 2 Cafe community.
