when I try to run awaken2 botmatch with the 3.24 executable, the game crashes with this message:
is there a cvar to allow overflow, or is it a bug ?

That's a pretty serious bug in the mod (or maybe the map you loaded) that overflowed a critical network transmission buffer.
If the mod's source is available, it could be ported to KMQ2, which would likely help with that error, depending on exactly what caused it.

I tried playing around with all the weapons and couldn't get any errors to happen. What map were you on, and how many bots were active?

in jef2dm7, wiz2aw and vidm30aw.
it's in all maps the same, used 4 - 5 bots.
the *gauss pistol* (bound to *2*) works basically as a blaster, but when you have ammo for it (slugs, i guess), you can switch it to secondary *particle beam* mode.
every time I do this, the game crashes.

I tried the gauss pistol on the standard Q2 DM maps and can't get that to happen.
Have you tried the particle beam mode without any bots active?

yep .... tried it without bots, and the particle beam worked, then I added some bots and it crashed immediately.

r1q2 does not crash, but gives this message :
GAME ERROR: Attempted to write 5 byte svc_sound to disconnected client 31, ignored. GAME ERROR: Attempted to write 5 byte svc_sound to disconnected client 31, ignored. does that give a clue ?

Looks like it's trying to send the beam/laser effect to the bot clients, which aren't real clients.
EDIT: Does the error happen exactly when you switch to the particle beam, or fire it?

I fixed it sending messages to bot clients when switching the gauss pistol mode. I also added the Rogue plats so you can play on the Rogue DM maps. A gamex86.dll for vanilla Q2 is also included. www.markshan.com/knightmare/downloads/kmq2_020u8_awaken2_test03.zipI'll also have to look at adding R1Q2's fix for mods sending commands/messages to bot clients to KMQ2.
