Q2 Cafe' members, I decided to make the Q2 Cafe' accessible only for members. I did leave some of the forums open for public viewing, but most of them will now require you to log in to gain access. I'm doing this because of several reasons that are personal. I hope this isn't too inconvenient, but I don't think that members who participate here and are here with good intentions will mind.
Thanks for your continued support.....Le Ray

For the site advertising itself as the best place for Quake 2, you are alienating a lot of people who may just visit here by chance or off the link from PlanetQuake. Not telling you how to run your boards, but considering you have very little in the way of an actual website and updates for that site, this is really the only thing they will see that is updated on a regular basis.

As many hits as this board gets, I don't think that going 'members only' will hurt it. In fact, I bet that enraged clan members (from other clans) will start spending more time hear voicing their displeasure than anything else. All they want to do is see into the private boards. Why else would people join the Q2 mapping clan, but not want to really be affliated with it? ;D

I think your post illogical and just plain stupid, and very offensive to not only me, but anyone who visits and happens to not be affilialted with your little clubhouse. Hell, the only reason you have all those hits is because you live on this board. I especially like it when you reply to your own posts.... I also agree with Panzer and his "alienation" statement. The world of q2 is small enuf without more crap like this. It is inconvenient, and I would mind... bad move imo. cya

...Hell, the only reason you have all those hits is because you live on this board. I especially like it when you reply to your own posts.... Bassman you have failed the idiot exam. Several people in the past thought that LeRay and I were the same user. This is not true at all. We work at the same company and therefore should have similiar IP addresses. I have posted as 'TomHanks' and 'me' on this board, and awhile back as 'BobandNeil' at Backshooters. How about you sport? I think that LeRay made this a 'members only' board, was to cut down on the pestering antics from some few folks out there. Hey, if you are interested then sign in. If this really offends you or others, then by Americas free choice, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND STOP POSTING HERE. Now that this has been said, are you gonna make a Prefab for March? Instead of bickering you could make a cool elevator or something. Just a thought. How do you spell 'your'? Or better yet, use it in a sentence.

Main Entry: your Pronunciation: y&r, 'yur, 'yOr, 'yor Function: adjective Etymology: Middle English, from Old English Eower; akin to Old English Eow you -- more at YOU 1 : of or relating to you or yourself or yourselves especially as possessor or possessors <your bodies>, agent or agents <your contributions>, or object or objects of an action <your discharge> 2 : of or relating to one or oneself <when you face the north, east is at your right> 3 -- used with little or no meaning almost as an equivalent to the definite article the <a trait... that sets him apart from your average professor -- James Breckenridge> Glad to be of service I have seen many boards go to this method of service here lately. As I was/am/will be a member here the move is transparent to me. I therefore will make an attestation, a NBD statement, and will have a notarized copy promulgated of the forementioned attestation delivered, logged and archived for future generations to peruse at their leisure.

KiffieDresh, if you examine the way I used "your", it was proper grammer - as in "your (Possesive) grammer sucks, and mine is correct". The other use for the same sounding word is used thusly: "you're (Contraction) an idiot". A statement in which I firmly believe- Leray seems to have learned how to digest constructive criticism- whether it be for his maps or forums. You on the other hand, act frightened of someone being smarter or having more life experience than you, therefore you lash out. Get over it poopyhead. There are always going to be folks smarter than you. Probably most of the human race.
I don't really know where you came up with the thought that I think you two are one in the same. Looks like you failed the psychic test....
NICE POST GRASSHOPPER- yes that was to denote S H O U T I N G ! ! !

I'm rubber and you're glue!!! Your post was very destructive. In fact, most of your posts are destructive. In fact, why are you still here? Didn't you say that you wouldn't come around here anymore? You must either love me or the Cafe! (maybe both (blush)) Poopyhead? you are so sweet. How old are you? 15? Let me be the first to say that you are so much more psychic that I, and also you are the smartest person I know. Cheers to you Bassman! You are the greatest! Thanks for all your support on the Cafe and I look forward to your continued support in the future.

I have nothing against the diner, but your(proper usage) initial post was incredibly insulting. The only reason i registered here was to give my opinion about the closed nature of your forums. It certainly was not to get flamed by some 13 year-old pseudo-intellectual or start a flame war. Your(proper usage) comments are deleterious and smug to say the least.
keep turning everyone who visits off and you'll(contraction) find yourself(compound word) alone here....
I am not a mapper, but am an active member in the q2 community, that needs places to go for information, maps, mods and the like...What you're(possesive) doing is just plain bad business.

Well Bassman, I replied in quotes of things that you said that were insulting to me. Since you had mentioned that you were not going to come back here, I merely reiterated the fact and reminded you that if you don't like it, then you can do what you say and don't come back. However, I wish that you or anyone else would stay, especially if there are any positvice things that you would add, or if you just want to download things. Thank you so much for instructing me what is bad business here. I think if I have some problems on the forum, maybe I can ask you for advice. (I am serious.) Oh, I'm not 13, I am 12. (Now loosen up and have some fun, OK.) I am old enough to drink!

ya know, i find it interesting that you insult me then ask me to stay... I'll leave soon enough. Good business means listening to what others have to say. something you really don't do well. I don't give advice. And even if I did, after your first post I wouldn't give it. This place is getting an attitude. And like in most businesses, that starts at the top. I have noticed leray staying out of this- he took what I had to say, digested it, and replied in an non-offensive manner- you could learn from him. You won't win an a flame war with me- I have too much experience. Smug? no. Confident? Yes, very.
