The Shinning? wasn't that a simpsons episode of "The Shining"? yeah, The Shining is a great movie, Stanley Kubric rocks , I've seen all of his movies after clockwork orange (meaning clockwork orange as well) My favourate movies by Kubric are clockwork orange and eyes wide shut

In no particular order...
Signs The Village The Mothman Prophecies King Arthur Tremors
Honorable mentions...
Open Range The Last Of The Mohicans Joe Dirt The Descent 13th Warrior
And more...
Die Hard Pitch Black Lake Placid The Edge True Lies
Yeah... and no joking... I understand fully that according to most folks I have horrible taste in film/movies... I likes what I likes and I have very good reasons for each and every choice.

a lot of those movies are visually stunning m, so I can see where you would like them. Plot matters little to me unless I'm reading a book, so I tend to like fantastic and visually stimulating movies more than most others.
I also can't stand overly dramatic stuff.
my top five (in no particular order)
The 5th Element. Dune. (1983 or so version, not the crappy new sci-fi channel BS) Equilibrium. Dr. Strangelove Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Paril must like Fire Marshall Bob I like Liar, Liar and Ace but I do not care for Me, Myself... For all of of you that have Tarantino movies... I pitty you One I forgot to add (actually there are many) that would be very high on any list I would compile is "The Blair Witch Project". It's visceral and scary in just the right way. I practically live in the woods/location where it was filmed. We hike/climb/mt. bike/canoe/photography all through those woods. The place where it "happened"... where they didn't actually do much filming has some very cool although boring woods too. I haven't seen any stick figures but I know of these seven piles of rocks... I wonder what happens if I go knock some over... hmmmmm...

Dr. Strangelove Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Equilibrium is an underappreciated gem. Wimmer really screwed up with Ultra Violet though, I found it to be a pretty hack-job-ish-high-budget-disasster-of-a-remake that was all but unwatchable. 5th was a very fun flick, cheesy in all of the right ways. Crouching Tiger... Not so much. And for whatever reason, I find that Terminator 3 is the most re-watchable of the three.

When someone mentions the Blair Witch, I just really have to say "WTF".
Beverly Hills Ninja was the best movie of all time, too bad Chris Farley passed away.

Dune. (1983 or so version, not the crappy new sci-fi channel BS) Equilibrium. Dr. Strangelove Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Isn't Dune a 9 hour watch or so? The other 4 are crazy good though Have you seen Shoulin soccer and kung fu hustle? those kick CT,HD in the butt Hilarious movies as well In no particular order... Signs The Village The Mothman Prophecies King Arthur Tremors Honorable mentions... Open Range The Last Of The Mohicans Joe Dirt The Descent 13th Warrior And more... Die Hard Pitch Black Lake Placid The Edge True Lies Yeah... and no joking... I understand fully that according to most folks I have horrible taste in film/movies... I likes what I likes and I have very good reasons for each and every choice. The only ones I've seen of these are Die Hard and Pitch Black Die Hard is awesome, all of them Pitch Black is well, I was tired and I watched it for 15 minutes before I fell asleep, and I hate Vin Diesel

The o'lady and I broke a 14 month stay-away from the theaters to see Pirates 2... We should have held out for something better... We hated it.
