Hi, I just found this web site and I'm so damn happy that there are still people playing this game! Rock on..... I decided to give map making a shot about a week or so ago. I downloaded Qoole v2.50 and I have made 3 maps and I'm currently working on another one. The first one didn't turn out so well because of lighting issues. I tried a different tactic on the other two and I was wondering if somebody could please download them and give me your opinion and or advice. Good or bad, it doesn't matter. Here is the link to a zip file containing the two maps: www.savefile.com/files.php?fid=8912130 - 0.62MB The maps are: anotherrailmap.bsp - 899kb redlightdistrict.bsp - 794kb Thank you in advance and again, it's really good to see people trying to keep this game alive! ;D welcome to the Cafe, lockdown. I like especially "anotherrailmap" from your two maps. nice usage of colored lights, textures and architectural elements. the layout, although simple, gives a feeling of complexity. the whole thing feels really good. n1. gotta give it a try with bots.

Hi, Thank you Whirlingdervish [Q2C] and Grieve! I really appreciate the welcome. Thank you for downloading the maps as well. I have been searching the web for the last week or so trying to reassure myself that Quake2 is still alive...lol. It really is good to know that there really are people still playing one of the best games ever made! I am trying to get a new video card so I can't really even enjoy the game at the moment. I have a 128MB video card. However, it skips frames every few seconds. Hopefully it won't be much longer and I will be able to see you all on the battlefield for some fraggin' fun. Thank again for the welcome and checking out my maps. Lockdown PS - I have a newbie question. I was wondering if somebody could please explain how to make a door open with a button you have to shoot? The door needs to open south and the button needs to move east/west. Thank you now for the help.

I was wondering if somebody could please explain how to make a door open with a button you have to shoot? The door needs to open south and the button needs to move east/west. Thank you now for the help. You have to set a health value for the button to make it shootable. Here's the func_button tutorial from RUST, link in my sig. You'll find func_door there too. The angle key/value pair is used to make the door and button move the way you want. I don't use Qoole so I can't help you with setting them. Download the sample map here: www.gamedesign.net/content/quake2/entity/samples/func_button.zipNice maps BTW

Hey, I just wanted to say thank you all for the comments and the help. I also apologize for taking so long to get back to you all. As I was changing my video card, I somehow managed, to short out the power supply. As soon as I get that replaced, I will post a couple more maps that I made over the last few days. Again, thank you all for the help and the nice welcome to the boards. I'll be back as soon as I can. Rock on...
