I have a train that is supposed to play the sound file world/train1.wav as it moves. Well it is entirely too low in volume to be of any use. Does anyone know a way to increase the sound the train makes (aside from having the train trigger path_corners that trigger strategically placed speakers). Basically, I want everyone within a reasonable distance to be able to hear this thing coming.

There are lots of problems with the sound of func_trains. Adding an origin brush to the train brush model should make the sound come from the trains location but if you want loud sounds then I think triggering target_speakers at path_corners is your only option.

You can raise the volume of the .wav file by using windows' "sound recorder" or some other .wav editor. This may help. I don't know what the default volume is with a func_train...You can try to +(add) an attribute "volume" to the func_train and give it a value of 1(the highest). See if that helps...

do you want it to loop the sound forever or only play it while the func_train is moving? (does the train ever stop?)

Oh, the train never stops, it goes from one end of the level then teleports to the beginning and starts over.
