I need a good music modifier who can change a .rmi file to a .wav for my map! (that's 8-bit .wav files right?) It would be cool if it could change .mp3 and other sound files

there are some free wav editors around which you can use. I can recommend GoldWave, WavePad or Audacity. audacity.sourceforge.net/www.goldwave.com/www.nch.com.au/wavepad/masters.html But you can't "change" rmi files into wav files directly, since rmi is a sort of midi. It's something completely different from wav files, it is a file with instructions for a sythie/sound chip what to play, not a file which stores music or sound itself. You can, however, play the rmi file with your music player and record the output of your soundcard while it plays with one of the above programs, in a loopback. I have often done such stuff, it's easy. Give Audacity a try first, it is freeware and very convenient to use, IMHO.

are there any filters you could use to block out this high volume(or pitch?) sound during recording? like an equalizer of some sort?

sounds like the recording volume was set too high. just try to adjust it a bit.
