Hello everyone.
Paril's Projects is hosting it's first ever mapping contest. Everyone who wishes to apply can. This mapping contest will be speedmapping, the art of creating a big and/or complex map in a very short amount of time (one week or so).
This map will be included in the 1st StroggDM Map Pack.
This mapping contest will consist of four main components;
Gameplay - Is it fun to play on? Are the areas open enough? Complexity - Is the map too simple? Playability - How many players can play on this map without overflowing? Lights - How well are the lights placed? Are the even any lights?
The object of this contest is to make the biggest map possible, that will work on any engine.
The map must be a mix, or parts of, any and all stock Quake2 maps.
The plot can be from an existing Stock map, or your own creation.
6 days left to sign up!
On Augest 19th, the mapping will be finished and all submissions must be either emailed or PMed to me, or you will be disqualified. Judging will begin on the 20th.
There will be 4 judges for these maps. Myself, and three others. You may request to be a judge my Private Messaging or Emailing me. Some judges may be chosen personally by myself.
Current Judges: Paril
I hope whoever can join will join in, and have a lot of fun.
(To clarify, this is not the Quake2 Cafe's 5th contest, it is Paril's Projects first.)

The four components suggest a deathmatch level but 'plot' suggests a single player. Unless you refer to Cooperative, which is it? And when you say Quake2's stock maps, do you mean decompiling and chopping them up, or just remaking them from scratch? I think you should give a bit more notice for signups than 1 day Neat idea though.. - Mike

I know, I removed plot and the one about monsters. It's for StroggDM, so that gives a hint.
Decompiling and chopping down, yes. Recreating would take too long.
I'm probably going to give 7 days to sign up, then the 10 days to finish it up.
