If you want a headache the size of Canada, sure, but I would suggest GTK Radiant.

GTK Radiant is even worse than Qoole. It's the least used map editor. I recommend QuArK, for either beginners or advanced users. GTK has an acquired taste, you need to have of not used any other editors before to really get the hang of it. Some people can, some people can't.

Since you don't like QuArK, and your current editor can't compile, I recommend you work in your current editor, save as .map, open it in QuArK and compile from there.

don't fear the buttons! just don't use them without saving your work till you figure out what they do.
there's really only about 10 controls on the quark GUI that you'll ever use in normal quake 2 mapping.
