I just updated my website, not with Quake 2 stuff, but with the other hobbies I do - like take photos. I am really starting to get good - well, I like to think so (and I am trying NOT to boast). I am stoked with how well my pictures are turning out now, and I'm only using a compact camera. Just wait till I get a DSLR!!!

Amazing photos tmg, that first photo is almost ghostly.... I've never been good at night shots, and I own a dslr ;) btw, I see your linking to my old url, my newer one is www.koldsdesigns.netNot that I have any content to update it ;-) Keep up the good work with the night shots tho, they look great.

Thanks guys! Yeah sorry X7 I was just thinking whether or not I'd included my URL address, but hey you found it!!! Kold, the setting I use are the following: Camera Moda (i.e. Auto, Shutter, etc...) - I use "Manual Mode" so spin that little dial around to "M" Then when I am there, and you too, Set the f-stop, or arpeture to 2.8 and set the shutter speed to between 2 and 6 seconds...You only really need 6 seconds when you're in a dark spot, but if you're taking city shots use either 2 or 3 seconds... If you give that a go, upload some to your site for us to look at.

To be honest I never really try to learn my camera properly, but good advice. I usually use the wireless remote in conjunction with "bulb" mode, so that I can time the exposure, but my shots are average compared to yours :-)

Yeah, wouldn' go sayin' that too quick kold. I use a noise filtering program to get rid of all the speckles in my shots, even if they do turn out well when I initially take them.
Good thing is I haven't really had to do any post-production work on them, and so far the shots have hit the mark in terms of brightness and contrast, so I am pretty happy about it.
I got a decent tripod on layby at the moment, and there's one shot I tried to take last night that I need a tripod for, so I just walked away frustrated that I couldn't take it...Oh well next week will have to do I guess.
