Hm strange. I just configured my netradiant for q1, I'll try to compile that map. You can also send me yours if you want. Btw: there's no info_player_start but there are plenty of info_player_deathmatches. It's a DM map. I'm using ezQuake and the maps looks like this for me: maps.sp1r1t.org/quake1/spirit1dm1/screenshots/

Just wanted to let you know that we're using different tools, I use hmap2 from here. Since my map works with your tools that shouldnt be the problem though. I'm out of ideas tbh. EDIT: I vaguely remember some quake bug where lighting isnt done when the map is too small. Try making your test room larger.

i got it to work. the weird thing is..i didn't do anything to it.. didn't touch a quark related file or quake 1 related file for 3 days..came back and it works.
