I tried a new curve making technique in GTKRadiant using patch curves as templates. It looks neater if more polygon-heavy than what i used in my contest map. Here's the result: I can write a tutorial for this if someone is interested.

Looks good. Tutorials never hurt, a sample map file would also be cool.
I tend to build stuff like curves or arched doorways once, then c&p them from one map file to the next cause I'm too lazy to rebuild.

Nice tehSandwich. As Spirit said, a tutorial would be great. Possibly with in editor screenshots?
When I first switched to Radiant I tested using a patch/bevel for stairs, it definitely helps when trying to get a nice curve.
Btw speaking of curves, I've just finished a 'curved pipe' tutorial. That was after I found out Speedy had created a similar tutorial years ago, it may be still worth releasing though. Need to get some screenshots sorted for it.
