Hi,
I'm using a skybox in tga format for a Quake 2 map I'm working on and though the skybox works in-game and looks good, it's giving me a warning/error message for all of its parts in the q2 in-game console, like this:
Downloading env/mapname/skybox_up.pcx Couldn't download env/mapname/skybox_up.pcx to mapname
I've had this before but I forgot what to do about it. What's the problem? Path to long? TGA trouble? Do I need to provide pcx versions as well (if so, how do I get them)?

It's looking for the software video version of the skybox (pcx). If you loaded the map in software mode it would not show up. Save a copy of the TGAs as .PCX and include them in the env folder. It's not needed, but anyone running an old-assed system won't be able to enjoy your lovely background

Thanks guys, adding a pcx version of the files removed the messages. In case anybody who reads this later needs to do the same: you can use the GIMP to convert your images to pcx format. EDIT: No you can't since this would not use the proper palette and look ass in-game. You may want to try Wally 1.55b.
