Until 3 minutes ago I thought the Q2 map I'm currently working on was done. I just did the last compile and ran through it once more. I asked myself whether it could be to dark and checked my gl_modulate setting. It is at 2 atm. So I changed it to gl_modulate 1 and guess what?! The brushes around all lights that use light styles (flickering etc) look totally ugly then, they flicker and the lightmap seems to be broken. (It's impossible to see this in a screenshot and I don't wanna link the map here because it's a contest map but feel free to PM me if you want a link to the bsp to have a closer look at it.) Anybody got an idea what to do? What is the default value of gl_modulate, 1 I guess?

Hm, I just gave it a try on spirit2dm6 and with gl_modulate 1 the light at upper JA shows the same behavior. Since nobody complained when I released that map I guess it's just my config, engine or video driver...

Played around in spirit2dm6 with gl_modulate 1, but couldn't see any flickering lights..

Yeah, I gave the map to margaal for testing and he says the flickering doesn't exit on his installation. So it's my messed up config or install only, yay!
