When I try to compile a map in Windows 7 64-bit I get the error that qbsp3 is not compatible with Windows 64-bit. Are there any compilers (bsp, vis, rad) that will work?

Don't know much about w7 yet, but in earlier windows versions you have an option to run programs in even earliere windows modes. Don't know if that's possible in your case though. -W1

No problems here with kmqbsp, gddvis, and ArghRad on Win7 Professional 64-bit. If you're still using the original qbsp3 that might be the problem.

THANKYOU!! I am now using gddqbsp3 109, vis3 104, rad3 103 Except now I'm having that "Cannot find pics/colormap.pcx" error. I have one in my Quake2/baseq2/pics directory, as well as the tmpQuark/pics folder. Maybe it needs it in the compilers folder too? That'd be strange.

no, that was already set. I've fixed the problem by using Arghrad 2.01 instead. I'm now able to compile maps with lighting in Windows 7 64-bit, thanks everyone! Project ISSD may just see the light of day after all

If you're still having this issue, the colormap.pcx issue can be remedied as easily as finding the file online. That's the file that rad uses to determine light/color levels for your map. As for a compiler in Windows 7, I use QOOLE99 with no issues, I know that people don't like QOOLE for its lack of features, but it's a nice program for beginners (and I learned on it so it holds a special place).
