these textures were made to be played on the berserker engine so they include normal and gloss/'specular' maps in addition to the traditional 'difuse'/color texture there is also a batch of 'pain' versions of each texture as is mandatory for monsters in quake2 www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/share/this is where the files are currently hosted. special thanks to James W. New monster skins update 5/10/11, All the models have been prerendered with a vertex color/lightning pass to bake improved skins + also new weapon skin for super shotgun, part of a new pack called "no more plastic shotguns". this is actually a modification of the original berserker@q2 normal/diffuse and specular maps for the super shotgun, special thanks to the author (if you have the info on who it is, please contact). i completely remade the barrels and handle, worked on the specular maps (for the longest time) and the normals as well, retextured the metallic parts with a custom metal 'material' i had to take several shots because the monsters kept looking to the side, and the light kept blinking on and off on the second one lol =================================== www.megaupload.com/?d=YVU6K4K2you may use these textures with the berserker engine, and if you are going to use them for your own project make sure it is for quake 2 or quake 2 related, and that you mention me as the original author. otherwise you do not have my permission to use these permanent hosting will be up soon! stay tuned (ps. try the new shotgun skin @ the "train" map *wink*wink*)

thankyou! if you liked this please check just_jim's site, there are 3 more skins by me though they are not finished, for the 3 basic guards.
also check out the ready to play pk2 jim has implemented. just put into basebers and add to the purepaks.lst with wordpad!

When I install berserker, I am installing it with the only available files on the website in this order:
q2bers_base.rar (183 MB) Основной архив. Для установки иметь установленный полный последний Quake2.
Обновление до версии 1.24: up123to124.rar up123to124_.rar <-- WHAT IS THIS? I did not use this. Обновление до версии 1.3: up126to13.rar Обновление до версии 1.31: up13to131.rar
But when I go up to 1.3, the load screen comes up and it just hangs. It works all the way up to 1.24. I wonder what the problem is?
Is the file "up123to124_.rar" different than "up123to124.rar"? Is that supposed to be the update from 124 to 126?
I never get an email when I subscribed to berserker forum.

i know what you mean, i wasn't able to join the quakegate.ru forums either, never got an activation email here's a little step by step on how to get it going, i don't remember how i did it myself, but i think i just followed some instructions somewhere fps.maros.pri.ee/index.php?event=1163look on the right, there's a link for the main "basebers" pack, get that (1.2) and then download all the updates, 1.21 to 1.26. the last updates are i think 1.30 to 1.31 in the official berserker site berserker.quakegate.ru/==================================================================== textures update coming soon! stay tuned

Mazzyplz_models_05-2..> 25-May-2011 11:14 58M is the updated models pack. It includes the previously released skins and models. Delete the older pk2 and put Mazzyplz_models_05-25.pk2 in the directory \baseq2 and update the file "purepaks.lst" so Mazzyplz_models_05-25.pk2 will load. www-personal.umich.edu/~jimw/q2/share/Mazzyplz_models_05-25.pk2To use these models and skins in Quake2xp Unzip Mazzyplz_models_05-25.pk2 rename files ending with _light to _gl rename files ending with _bump to _nm zip and name the file q2xpMdlmazzyplz_models.pkx Otherwise wait until I upload q2xpMdlmazzyplz_models.pkx later tonight.

Oh man, these look great. Too bad megaupload was taken out during the SOPA campaign.. Cant wait for more updates, it looks like a 5 year old game instead of a 15 year old game

thanks for the kind words, and i hope i dont disapoint- UPDATE! may 27th 2012 www.gigasize.com/get/7pqs4tro0qbonly the gladiator skin is new, it's still not finished (much like the other textures, which are never truly done), it doesnt have a pain texture yet! i am sorry new hosting will be gigasize since i don't need to make an account there. next will come the pain texture for the gladiator, and some updates to existing textures in my pack. then i'll move on to another model. thanks for your patience. as usual put the pk2 inside baseq2 and manually add to "purepaks.lst" using notepad or wordpad. remember to disable texture compression in game menu and set mode to rgb8. enjoy !
