I've just made my first Quake II map after a four-year long break during which I seem to have forgotten everything there is to know about mapping! Anyway, I know it's not much to look at, it's not impressive in the least, but I wanted to share it with you guys. It supports single player, cooperative and deathmatch modes. Here is where you can download it from. If you try it out, please tell me what you think! Thanks in advance! MaRiNe [Q2C] (Teo)

The map is rather solidly constructed, with good monster placement. But you could have made better use of the medic at the end, by deploying him after the player had killed several monsters in the area.
I found 2 of 3 secrets. The armor secret had nothing hinting at it, and I found it accidentally when I noticed one of the walls was taking damage. Explodable panels like that should have a crack in them, or have their texture slightly askew to make them noticeable.
The geometry was quite orthogonal, with the exception of the rotated crates. Try to use more edge manipulation for diagonal walls and/or sloping surfaces if you do another map (unless of course, if you're using Qoole).

lighting inside wall & ceiling Nicy done!...( depth feeling ). ...The map can be bit darker for atmosfeer.. More edge manipulation yeh, make ceiling closer connect to each other. ....good monster, weapons, ammo placement!... hehe The medic was my friend this time. The Map runs smoothly and quickly... single player map is not easy to make...Good job....thx for sharing..

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Yes, I'm using Qoole 2.50, but I feel that most of the time when I try to make something more complicated the editor messes it up - even the rotated crates were giving me headaches because there was a fifty percent chance that one of their faces wouldn't compile correctly and you could shoot through them, so I had to remake them over again. Not to mention that the textures on the brush sides look fine in Qoole, but after compiling and playing in Quake they were completely misaligned. So, for them to look fine in Quake, I had to make most of them like this: That almost always happens when something is not completely orthogonal.
