I have just installed Quake 2 on my PC, which has Windows 7 Operating System. How do I get the graphics nice and clear? The demo section at the start of the game is very pixelated. Thanks.

You mean the resolution? You need to go to the video menu and switch the renderer from software to default OpenGL and set the resolution higher (native resolution of LCD). Use the v3.24 patch if you need widescreen support.

Got the resolution sorted. The problem I have now is that the Gamepad controller doesn't respond, even though its new condition. The Device installed ok on the laptop, but that's about it. Any ideas chaps?

I've never used a gamepad with Q2, so I can't help you there. It's likely that it will involve manually binding the JOY1-JOY4 or AUX1-AUX32 keys, though.

Did you get this resolved? Eventually you may want to switch to Windows XP in one of 2 ways. 1) As a Dual Boot (7 or XP option) 2)Go back to XP Many are Dual booting XP and Linux. Windows has lost it's way with their incompatibility. Go with a 32 Bit no matter what. I am still getting New computers dropped off with Windows XP requests. (I work with my ExWife) Its what customers want. Its a hell of a challenge and I love he look on the faces of them when they find I was able to so so after all other places told them "imspossible, can't" You can be a follower and listen to the "it's old/outdated lie". Get frustrated with dealing with Windows 7/8 or go back to the way everything was..WORKING. Thats my take Chap!
