i am creating a map in deathmatch mode and now i need just one humanoid object standing in a room, it does not have to move much, just some idle animation. and i put some monster and the path for it and it does not appear in r1q2. is that because of dm mode? i use gtkRadiant. cheers.

I am not exactly sure, but perhaps you need to set a flag for it to appear in DM. I think they normally wouldnt spawn, so there might be a flag set for them not to spawn in DM. I have never tried that and am not very experienced in mapping so I am not sure. But take a look in it, hope it helps.

All monsters are disabled in deathmatch. The server would need to be running a mod that changes this for them to show up.

if i place info_player_start, will it be the proper mode to have the monster?

Not that I know of, because player start doesn`t appear in DM. There are flags for entities when they do /not appear. Maybe that does the trick. But it could make problem that the monsters shoot at the players. But I am no experienced mapper and never tried this out. So perhaps just take a look at those flags and give it a try.

Changing the spawnflags for the monsters won't do anything about this. They're hardcoded to not spawn in deathmatch. This requires a mod to change.
