For some time I've wanted to create softer earthquakes in maps, but the speed value does not seem to allow much change at all, other than very high speed values causing the player to forcibly shoot upwards during a quake. For example in the Strogg ship maps in the N64 version of Quake 2, there was a very gentle but constant quake in those maps to simulate rumbling of the ships engines and was gentle enough it wasn't annoying, I thought it was a cool effect for a ship map and wanted to do the same, but I guess that's not looking possible in the PC version unless I am missing some trick to the numbers? Thanks.

Unfortunately, the horizontal shaking for target_earthquake is hard coded:
e->velocity[0] += crandom()* 150; e->velocity[1] += crandom()* 150; e->velocity[2] = self->speed * (100.0 / e->mass);
This looks like something that needs changing for another release of KMQ2/Lazarus and 3ZB2.

Hey Kits, This already has been fixed on our side. Just use "accel" "60" (this replaces 150 velocity multiplier with 60) and "volume" "0.7" to reduce earthquake volume, so overall it can be tamed I'm submitting the castle / tsunami map which will have these values in case you need to examine it further. Cheers,
