kmquake2 behaves a bit oddly with screenshots lately. it saves them on the boot partition, under *C:\Users\maxwell\Documents\My Games\KMQuake2\awaken2\screenshots*, whereas the game directory is on *M:\Games\Quake2\awaken2* or other game folders using kmquake2.

Assuming you're on Windows Vista or later and not using the "-mygames" command line parm, it should be writing all configs/saves/screenshots/etc to "C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\KMQuake2\awaken2". It's apparently failing to find that path (it may be remapped wrong)- there may be a message in the debug console: "Couldn't get PrefDir (Saved Games/KMQuake2), because <reason>". So it falls back to the Win2000/XP behavior of saving everything under "My Documents/My Games". Try typing "error" in the console to drop out to the debug console on the desktop and see if that message is there.
Writing all files to a folder under the user profile is the proper behavior for saving files for games on modern versions of Windows. The user may not have write access to the game's install path, so this avoids having to run the game as an administrator.
If you want KMQ2 to write everything to the install path, there are instructions for that in the readme.

The "-mygames" parameter forces KMQ2 to write its config/saves/screenshots/etc. to the "My Documents/My Games" folder under Win Vista and later, which is obviously not what you want.
If you want KMQ2 to write everything under the "Saved Games" folder of your user profile, you need to make sure that folder exists and is not remapped to an invalid path, and its permissions are not corrupted.
If you want KMQ2 to write everything to the install path, you would add the "-portable" parameter like it says in the readme.
