As some of you may know, Digital Paint: Paintball2 was originally a Quake2 mod that went standalone after the idtech2 source code was released. I've added a bunch of things that were paintball-specific to the engine, but also a lot of nice general features, like pretty reflective water, non-qwerty keyboard support, fast file downloads, improved the way the textures and lighting are handled so they don't look so blurry/washed out, and a ton of other stuff I can't remember.
I thought it would be cool to bring back vanilla Quake2 support for the 25th anniversary. It's been a lot more work than I expected as things like save games, some effects, etc. were either removed or broken, but hopefully it's worth the effort.
I'm also planning to do an event where we just hang out and play some deathmatch and/or coop on Friday, Dec. 9th to celebrate the anniversary. Hopefully I can get everything working by then!
