Hows about an area for skins discussion?

The mappers areas are great, even if a bit over my head (not a mapper, but I envy you guys who are), but a place for the skinners to gather would be cool too.

this would be great. I'm a big fan of these cool player models and skins. I've collected a lot of them, and in botmatch I use an individual model for each bot that is in use.
I even made some gladiator bot character files that were matching to the model I used to for this bot. A touch of Quake 3 Arena in Quake 2.

But the big problem is that I don't see active modelers or skinners for Quake 2 any more. There were some new skins for existing models on polycount, but no new Quake model has been published over the last year. And only very few the previous 2 years.

So is it really useful to create a place for modelers/skinners when there are none around ?
Do you know skinners / modelers, or maybe do it yourself ?

Well I am no modeler, although I am looking into how to do it, but I do dabble in skinning. My website (link in my profile) is for skins mostly, and what few levels I decide to make, or models when I figure out how..

Well thanks for the welcome. It's definately warmer than most forums have, and thats a great thing.

I hope to continue visiting, and maybe even cause a bit of skinners mayhem in the meantime (eg). I just hope people actually like the skins I do and want to use them. Of course thats the goal of every skinner I think, so I am probably up against some stiff comp.

Anyways, keep fragging guys.

Great looking skins.. .
I allways use Woodoo when i play, she is a kind of cute in a tough way
I have use compleetly nude girls in both Quake and Tombraider before and i think its fun. Well, u cant see anything more than the "Lord" createded and that cant be wrong, right. .
In my oppinion its allright, but i dont have the last saying inhere, so lets see if your post still is here tomorrow.
