I'm getting a strange effect on the v_models used to display other player's weapons. They are rendering as pure white, without any skin. I'm not able to discern if they are using the new tris or not, but they shouldn't, as the new pak only replaces the g_models.
Is anybody else getting this, or is there something affecting this?

I changed the Cskin.pcx name to skin.pcx already.. it should of changed :s EDIT: I looked in the pak. It's changed to skin.pcx, there is no Cskin.pcx. EDIT2: Whoops. I only modified the low quality version to skin.pcx. But that brings up the question, if you're using the high qual version, you won't see the PCX files Okay, slugs will be fixed for next version. I had it in a temp folder, that's why. No. First person models are unchanged. Check other paks and your models folder in baseq2, in any.

I stripped everything down to stock with only this pak affecting weapon models. The v_models that I see on other players (not my own) are rendering skinless.

Oh, I know why. Vwep models rely on the g_ models' skins, so it's not 100% skinless but not meshed correctly. What you could do is make copies of the old g_ models skins, and re-link the vwep models accordingly. I will make sure the skin names are changed in next version as so vwep does not remain changed. Sorry for inconvenience, thanks for telling me about this

Thanks.
What does everybody think about the screen-saving hand railgun? It doesn't sway and take up 77% of your screen anymore!

I always hated the sway baseq2 animation myself, and have been using the kickback-eqsue twopiece model for a while (blue, has a nozzle that gets thrown back on discharge). This is really nice, and I just hope you don't put the sway anim in

Yeah, I saw that model. It's actually the same as the Quake2 railgun, just re-skinned and changed the shooting anim.
Thanks. No, the sway stays out. The animations in this will be more like Quake3's "static" anims, but still have a Quake2 feel.

Paril, can you recommend an engine to use this pak with?

Q2CP.
Google it to find it. It's a very simple engine. It looks just like stock Q2 engine but has many hidden improvements.
Make sure, when in, to go to Video, and change the renderer to "q2cpgl".

No problem.
V3 will include finished hand models. They won't have new hands (machinegun, grenade launcher for examples), but the weapons will be new.

These look absolutely badass; made the game enjoyable again... ended up playing for a solid hour when I really only intended a few minutes.
