I wish to replace the default Q2 weapon models with favorites found in various mods however some of these new models will end up untextured as it is searching for the texture in the old mod's folder. How can I change these files to be recognized in any pak file?

It doesn't search for textures in mod folders. The texture is always something on the lines of: models/weapons/blank/skin.pcx
Mod folders aren't in the texture path.

dervish.tastyspleen.net/files/q2mdlr9b.zipHere is the only working program that I've found for general .md2 editting. It will allow you to change the skins to whatever you want, on existing models, with ease. It's nice if you want to paint a skin in place as well. Only shortcoming is that it doesn't seem to support .png and .jpg skins in the skin viewer. If you want to use a higher res skin, you just need to assign a .pcx one, and include a .png skin with the same name but different extension in the model's directory and newer renderers like r1gl will figure it out.

That's an older version. Google "q2mdl911.zip" for the latest version. Don't use png, use tga, EGL crashes when pngs are used.
