That map looks a lot simpler in design and layout then yours.
To get huge maps to compile I had to up the chop size in qrad3. How are you compiling? It would be great to see the errors it's putting out to the console. What the command line you're using? If you're using GTKRadient you can click Build - Customize then click on the option in the "Build Menu" to see what it's running. In the preferences you can also check "enable build process monitoring" under the build settings.
I like a .bat file so I can always see what it's doing.

Give the Brutal Doom mod a shot. New version comes out this month but there's older ones available. If you're to cheap to buy Doom, or, like me, paid for it ~5 times now and don't want to pay again, check out FreeDoom too. Same idea as OpenArena: a free Doom game.

I use qtracker for my Q2 (and other) game browsing. I really should get the pay version... it's a great program. I use GTKRadiant for my Quake 2 mapping needs. It's said that Trenchboom 2.0 will support Q2, then I'll switch to that. I like that a lot better then radiant.

A "demo' is under copyright but it is not under the control or restriction of the original author anymore. I also have the fact that Quake released the source for quake so I am safe. They are under id's/activision/beth control (whomever owns them), but id has never cared if you shared the demo pak's. It's not like modern demo's that are DRM'ed and all that.

All files are under copyright. Even the demo. I was under the impression though that only the owner of an IP/etc. could file a DCMA claim, not anybody against anything.

I'm interviewing Blendo Games and I need your help! I've got some Blendo Games games to give away. Two copies of Thirty Flights of Loving and Atom Zombie Smasher. So I'm looking for two people who want one copy of each. You can thank Brendon Chung (the man behind Blendo Games) for that. Ok, here's what I need. I need questions to ask during the interview. Yes, I've got the standard ones, but I want YOU to give me some more. You submit the questions and two lucky people will be chosen by an “expert panel” of judges will decide which questions to use. And you'll also get a copy of Thirty Flights of Loving and Atom Zombie Smasher. Awesome, no? Rules? There's two: keep it clean and have the questions to me by Monday at 11:59pm EST. So that's it. Get me your questions. E-mail them to the_happy_friar_planet@yahoo.com, subject “Blendo Games Interview”. Blendo Games relased the old Q2 mod Citizen Able, the two free Q2 GPL based games Gravity Bone and Grotto King. The sequel of Gravity Bone, Thirty Flights of Loving, was his first Q2 GPL title. His new game, Quadrilateral Cowboy if a Doom 3 GPL based hacking game.

Ok, turns out it doesn't work in Q2 3.20 but work in Q2E & r1q2. Didn't try other engines, but it must be a 3.2 thing.

I downloaded the file, put the pak+dll in a quake 2 folder named "turret". Made a .bat file that ran Quake 2 Evolved plus the mod folder "turret". Made an autoexec.cfg in "turret" with a copy/paste of the command you said.
When I ran the game Q2E didn't know the console command, so I assumed it couldn't load the dll.
I used stock quake.exe v3.20 instead. It recognized the console command, allow_player_use_abandoned_turret was set to 1 m but I couldn't control the turret. Any special engine required for that gamex86.DLL?

My site's not as popular as some, but it's still a Doom/Quake news site and I have no problem (encourage really) posting about new maps being made. site: earthquake.fuzzylogicinc.com/send your press releases on your new maps to the_happy_friar_planet at yahoo dot com I know there's still Q2 maps being made.
